Inc: Thomas Fetterman founded his small
company in 1988. Being a long-term person with disabilities himself has
given him an intimate insight into the needs of his fellow long-term
crutch users. He now designs, builds and distributes a complete line of
state of the art custom made crutches and accessories dedicated to the
long-term crutch user community.
Abilities Care-Net:
I am pleased to say that my products are now being distributed in Japan
by Abilities Care-Net. Started 40 years ago, Abilities
Care-Net continues to be the leader in the distribution of
products dedicated to the Communities of both Seniors and People with
Disabilities. They now operate over 45 retail stores throughout Japan
and maintain a large mail order presence.
Lane
MicroBusiness: A nonprofit Oregon agency that
assist low-income entrepreneurs to establish, grow, and sustain
successful businesses through educational programs, technical
assistance, and referral to resources. Client success is
further supported through referrals to local lenders, economic
development organizations, educational resources, and ‘access to
markets’ opportunities.
The Abilities Fund:
The Abilities Fund is committed to the economic advancement of people
with disabilities, and devoted to the fullest expression of their
entrepreneurial spirit in all its diversity, strength and boundless
originality.
The Trickle Up Organization:
Trickle Up helps the lowest income people
worldwide take the first steps up out of poverty by providing
conditional seed capital, business training, and relevant support
services essential to the launch or expansion of a
MicroEnterprise. This proven social and economic empowerment
model is implemented in partnership with local agencies.
The World Institute on
Disabilities: The WID is a nonprofit research,
public policy and advocacy center dedicated to promoting the civil
rights and full societal inclusion of people with
disabilities.
Opening Eyes, LLC:
Dana Elizabeth Whitaker has written a
tremendous book entitled “Transforming Lives $40 at a Time”.
Dana features myself and several other micro entrepreneurs from
thirteen countries, on five continents who are using microfinance
products and services, to provide a better life for themselves, their
families and for entire communities.

preparedness consulting firm of
R L Associates (209) 576-0994. The company began in 1999 and
is owned by Ron & Jane Lopez of Modesto, CA. Disaster
preparedness within the disability community has traditionally been overlooked
and under-addressed, despite the fact that it is a huge
issue. R L Associates aims to correct that problem.
